The Party Branch of Zopoise Conducts a Thematic Party Day Activity on “Seeking, Upholding, and Practicing Our Original Aspiration”

To celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, to guide Party members and cadres in receiving red education and carrying forward the red gene, and to further enhance the cohesion and combat effectiveness of the Party branch, the Zopoise Party branch recently organized its members to visit the Red Education Base in Liling, Zhuzhou, where they carried out a themed Party Day activity entitled “Seeking, Upholding, and Practicing Our Original Aspiration.”

First, the inaugural stop on the red education tour is the former residence of Geng Biao.

Comrade Geng Biao was a renowned proletarian revolutionary, military strategist, politician, and diplomat, as well as a senior commander in the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. He joined the revolutionary movement in 1922 and made tremendous contributions to China’s liberation and diplomatic endeavors.

Party members listened attentively as the docent recounted the life and achievements of Comrade Geng Biao, a military statesman and diplomat. From “Dedication to the Revolution: Baptized in Storms of Blood and Fury” to “A Life of Military Campaigns: A Meritorious Servant of the People’s Liberation,” from “Seeking Truth and Being Pragmatic: The Distinguished Style of an Outstanding Diplomat” to “Shouldering Heavy Responsibilities: The Deep Affection of a Leader of the People’s Republic,” the party members profoundly appreciated the immense contributions made by the founding fathers of the People’s Republic and by the Red Army and the Eighth Route Army to national independence and national rejuvenation. They were deeply moved by the indomitable spirit of self-improvement and devoted service to the Party demonstrated by the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries, and they received a profound education in revolutionary traditions.

Subsequently, the Party members gathered before the statue of General Geng Biao, clenched their fists, and recited the Party membership oath, reaffirming their solemn commitment and keeping firmly in mind the political responsibilities and professional duties of Communist Party members.

Our second stop on the red education tour was the former residence of Comrade Li Lisan.

Comrade Li Lisan was an important leader in the founding period of our Party, a proletarian revolutionary, and an outstanding leader of the Chinese workers’ movement. For the future of his country and people, he renounced a life of comfort and privilege and resolutely embarked on the revolutionary path. He participated in and led such momentous revolutionary struggles as the great strike of the Anyuan Railway and Mine Workers, the internationally renowned May 30th Movement, and the Nanchang Uprising, thereby rendering immortal service to the cause of the liberation of the Chinese people. Steadfast in upholding truth and conducting himself with integrity, he respected history and sought truth from facts. Even under the persecution of the Lin Biao–Jiang Qing counterrevolutionary clique, he courageously stepped forward to give impartial testimony about the historical contributions of elder proletarian revolutionaries such as Liu Shaoqi, thus demonstrating the unyielding party spirit of a Communist Party member. All present expressed their determination to learn from Comrade Li Lisan’s indomitable revolutionary spirit; to emulate his noble quality of daring self-criticism; and to follow his fine style of putting the overall situation first.

Through the organization of this themed Party Day activity, all Party members and cadres were intellectually inspired and spiritually purified, with their sense of historical mission and responsibility further strengthened. Participants unanimously expressed their commitment to taking Comrades Geng Biao and Li Lisan as role models, carrying forward the red heritage of our revolutionary forebears, staying true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind in our respective posts, working diligently and making concrete contributions to the development of the enterprise.
