“Why is there such a wide price gap among solar products? Why do some last three years, while others can’t even make it through one?” With these industry pain points in mind, on November 3, during the monthly R&D training session at Zopoise, the R&D department organized a special study session on lithium iron phosphate batteries, bringing together relevant colleagues to delve deeply into the core technology that serves as the “heart” of these solar products.

This training program is designed with a “practical, actionable” focus and covers eight key modules, including cell parameters, factors affecting cycle life, series–parallel connection techniques, and certification standards. Technical experts led the team in dissecting specification documents and, using empirical test data, analyzed critical variables: at 40°C, a battery charged to 40% capacity experiences a 15% capacity loss over one year, whereas a fully charged battery suffers a 35% loss, providing a solid basis for establishing storage standards.

The interactive Q&A session was packed with practical insights: fast charging requires compatibility with the battery’s specifications, and low-quality fast chargers can easily damage batteries; a 16 Ah battery struggling to deliver 16 A for even one hour will experience accelerated degradation under high current; low temperatures reduce capacity, while high temperatures shorten lifespan, highlighting the significant impact of environmental conditions on battery performance.

Regarding extending battery life, the meeting outlined four key principles: cycling the battery between 20% and 80% charge provides the longest cycle life; charging from 0% to 80% and then fully discharging only counts as 0.25 cycle; avoid extreme environmental conditions and keep the battery clean; use the original charger; and ship the battery with a state-of-charge range of 40%–60% (3.3 V–3.6 V).

Following the meeting, the R&D department developed the “Zopoise Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Selection and Design Table,” which clearly defines specifications such as the identification and classification of Grade A and Grade B battery cells. Adhering to the principle of “Professionalism Builds Quality,” Zopoise translates technological expertise into product competitiveness, creating more durable solar products for its customers and steadily advancing on the path of innovation.
